What is Specialty Powder Charred Ash?

Mehron Specialty Powder Charred Ash is a super-fine loose powder with a grey-black tint that clings to skin and make-up without needing a binding agent. The pigments are fine enough to settle into the skin's texture for a natural, non-streaky finish: the ash looks like it has settled on the skin, not like it has been applied.

The Charred Ash shade suits scenes that call for a burnt, sooty or dusty effect. Use it on its own as an atmospheric layer or in combination with other SFX products such as Mehron Liquid Latex Clear for burnt skin effects or Mehron Scar Wax for ash on an open wound.

How do you use it?

Step 1: measure out the powder. Shake the pot and open the lid. Dip a large, soft powder brush into the powder, or choose a small powder brush for more precise application.

Step 2: apply. Stipple or sweep the powder onto the skin wherever you want to simulate ash, soot or dust. Step 3: build up the layers. Start with a light layer and gradually build up to the effect you want. For heavy ash deposits, stipple in extra powder. For a light dust layer, gently sweep away any excess.

How to remove
