Diamond FX Essential Red 30gr - wax-based face paint

The Diamond FX Essential Red 30gr is a professional wax-based face paint known for its high pigmentation and strong coverage. The wax base lets you build up layers without colours bleeding into each other. With this 30g pot you can paint 10 to 15 full faces.

Diamond FX Essential is hypoallergenic, gluten-free, and free from animal ingredients, parabens, fragrance and lanolin. The Essential range is formulated with EU- and FDA-compliant cosmetic ingredients and is suitable for the skin of children and adults alike. Browse all our Diamond FX Essential colours.

How to use Diamond FX face paint

Activate the face paint with a small amount of clean water. Mist the surface with a spray bottle, or use a well-squeezed sponge or damp brush. Clean water keeps colours bright and true - use a water bowl and refresh the water between colours.

Tips for a professional result

  • Use the right brushes. The FBFX Face Paint Brushes are designed for face paint with smooth synthetic bristles that leave no fluff behind. For detail work and sharp lines, reach for the FBFX Round Face Paint Brushes.
  • Use the right sponge. For large areas, use a Yellow Face Paint Sponge. Latex foam sponges are not suitable for face paint.
  • Keep your water clean. A water bowl with fresh water next to your workspace prevents colours from mixing or turning dull.
  • Barrier layer for sensitive skin or intense colours. Apply a thin layer of Marley Skin beforehand. This barrier makes removal easier and prevents staining with intense shades.

How to remove Diamond FX face paint

Remove with mild, non-moisturising soap and cool to lukewarm water. Hot water opens the pores, allowing pigment to sink deeper into the skin - avoid it. Gently massage the soap in and rinse thoroughly. Repeat until all face paint is gone.

For a cleaner and quicker removal without scrubbing:

  • Diamond FX Skin Soap - specially developed for removing Diamond FX face paint
  • Remover Towel - a moist wipe that takes the face paint off in one go, ideal at events and children's parties where you're painting lots of faces in a row

What to use Diamond FX Essential Red for

  • Children's face painting - Spider-Man, devils, clowns and other red characters at birthday parties and school events
  • Halloween and themed events - blood effects, wounds, vampire looks and dramatic red make-up
  • Body painting - flames, abstract patterns and large red areas with sharp, clean pigment
  • Cosplay and character make-up - lips, wounds, red masks and details painted over other colours
  • Theatre and SFX - vivid red for expressive looks, blood simulation and character accents

Frequently asked questions

Why are there sometimes small cracks in the face paint?

Large temperature changes during storage or transport can cause the wax to expand and contract, leading to surface cracks. They usually disappear on their own once you start using the product. There is no effect on quality or shelf life.

Is Diamond FX safe for children?

Yes, Diamond FX Essential is hypoallergenic, fragrance-, paraben- and lanolin-free, gluten-free and contains no animal ingredients. The Essential range meets EU and FDA cosmetic guidelines. Always do a patch test 24 hours in advance for sensitive skin.

How many faces can you paint with 30g?

A 30g pot gives you roughly 10 to 15 full faces, depending on layer thickness and technique.

What is the difference between Essential, Metallic and Neon?

Essential is a matte, base face paint. Metallic has a glossy shimmer finish. Neon colours glow under UV/blacklight - Neon Blue, Violet and White are semi-transparent in regular light and only come to life under UV/blacklight; the other Neon colours are opaque and vivid.

Can you apply Diamond FX over other colours?

Yes, that is one of its key strengths. The wax base and high pigmentation mean the top colour covers without the underlying colour showing through. Product photos are taken under professional daylight lamps without any colour editing. Colours may vary slightly depending on your screen settings.
