The Essential range is formulated with EU- and FDA-compliant cosmetic ingredients and suitable for both children and adults. Browse all our other Diamond FX Essential colours.

How to use Diamond FX face paint
Activate the face paint with a small amount of clean water. Mist the surface lightly with a spray bottle, or use a well-squeezed sponge or damp brush. Clean water keeps your colours bright and true - work alongside a water pot and refresh the water between colours.
Tips for a professional result
- Use the right brushes. The FBFX Face Paint Brushes are designed specifically for face paint with smooth synthetic bristles that don't shed. For detail work and line work, reach for the FBFX Round Face Paint Brushes.
- Use the right sponge. For covering large areas, use a Yellow Face Paint Sponge. Latex foam sponges are not suitable for water-activated face paint.
- Keep your water clean. A water pot with fresh water at your workstation prevents colours from mixing or turning dull.
- Protective layer for sensitive skin or intense colours. Apply a thin layer of Marley Skin beforehand. This barrier layer makes removal easier and prevents staining (pigment residue) with intense shades like purple, turquoise, or dark blue.
How to remove Diamond FX face paint
Remove with a mild, non-moisturising soap and cool to lukewarm water. Hot water opens pores and allows pigment to sink deeper into the skin - avoid it. Gently work the soap in and rinse thoroughly. Repeat until all face paint is gone.
For a quicker, easier removal without scrubbing:
- Diamond FX Skin Soap - specially developed to remove Diamond FX face paint
- Remover Towel - a moist wipe that lifts face paint in one go, ideal at events and children's parties where you're painting one face after another

Frequently asked questions
Why are there sometimes small cracks in the face paint?
Large temperature changes during storage or transport can cause the wax to expand and contract, leading to surface cracks. They usually disappear once you start using the product. There is no effect on quality or shelf life.
Is Diamond FX safe for children?
Yes, Diamond FX Essential is hypoallergenic, fragrance-, paraben- and lanolin-free, gluten-free, and contains no animal-derived ingredients. The Essential range meets EU and FDA cosmetics guidelines. If someone has sensitive skin, do a patch test 24 hours before use.
How many faces can you paint with 30g?
A 30g pot gives you roughly 10 to 15 full faces, depending on the thickness of application and your technique.
What is the difference between Essential, Metallic and Neon?
Essential is a matte, base face paint. Metallic has a glossy shimmer finish. Neon colours glow under UV/blacklight - Neon Blue, Violet and White are semi-transparent under regular light and only come to life under UV/blacklight; the other Neon shades are opaque and vivid.
Can you apply Diamond FX over other colours?
Yes, that's one of its strengths. The wax base and high pigmentation mean the top colour covers without the underlying colour showing through. Product photos are taken under professional daylight lamps without colour editing. Colours may vary slightly depending on your screen settings.
Compliant with EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009. Product photos are taken under professional lighting. Colours may differ slightly depending on your screen settings.
