How to use Diamond FX face paint
Activate the paint with a small amount of clean water. Mist the surface lightly with a spray bottle, or use a well-squeezed sponge or damp brush. Clean water keeps your colours bright and true - work with a water pot and refresh it between colours.
Tips for a professional result
- Use the right brushes. The FBFX Face Paint Brushes are designed specifically for face paint with soft synthetic bristles that leave no fluff behind. For detail work and line work, reach for the FBFX Round Face Paint Brushes.
- Use the right sponge. For large areas, work with a Yellow Face Paint Sponge. Latex foam sponges are not suitable for face paint.
- Keep your water clean. A water pot with fresh water next to your workspace prevents colours from mixing or turning dull.
- Barrier layer for sensitive skin or intense colours. Apply a thin layer of Marley Skin beforehand. This protective layer makes removal easier and prevents staining (pigment residue) with intense shades like turquoise, dark green or dark blue.
How to remove Diamond FX face paint
Remove the face paint with mild, non-moisturising soap and cool to lukewarm water. Hot water opens the pores and allows pigment to sink deeper into the skin - avoid this. Gently work in the soap and rinse thoroughly. Repeat until all the paint is gone.
For a cleaner and quicker removal without scrubbing:
- Diamond FX Skin Soap - specially developed for removing Diamond FX face paint
- Remover Towel - a moist wipe that takes the paint off in one go, ideal at events and children's parties where you're painting face after face

Frequently asked questions
Why are there sometimes small cracks in the face paint?
Large temperature swings during storage or transport can cause the wax to expand and contract, leading to surface cracks. These usually disappear when you start using the paint. There is no effect on quality or shelf life.
Is Diamond FX safe for children?
Yes, Diamond FX Essential is hypoallergenic, fragrance-, paraben- and lanolin-free, gluten-free and contains no animal ingredients. The Essential range complies with EU and FDA cosmetics guidelines. Always patch-test on sensitive skin 24 hours beforehand.
How many faces can you paint with 30g?
A 30g pot covers approximately 10 to 15 full faces, depending on layer thickness and technique.
What is the difference between Essential, Metallic and Neon?
Essential is a matte base face paint. Metallic has a glossy shimmer finish. Neon colours glow under UV/blacklight - Neon Blue, Violet and White are semi-transparent under regular light and only come to life under blacklight; the other Neon colours are opaque and vivid.
Can you apply Diamond FX over other colours?
Yes, that is one of its key strengths. The wax base and high pigmentation mean the top colour covers without the underlying colour showing through. Product photos are taken under professional daylight lamps without colour editing. Colours may vary slightly depending on your screen settings.
Compliant with EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009. Product photos are taken under professional lighting. Colours may differ slightly depending on your screen settings.
