Sculpt Gel Clear is the transparent platinum silicone paste from Mouldlife for professional SFX make-up. You apply it directly to skin to build realistic, three-dimensional effects like scars, burns and skin distortions. Because this version is clear, you have full control over the final colour. Tint the gel before mixing using silicone pigments, or finish it after curing with standard make-up or alcohol activated make-up. This clear version takes a bit more experience than the flesh-toned variant, as placement is harder to judge while you work, but it gives you greater creative freedom.

What SFX effects can you create with Sculpt Gel Clear?
Sculpt Gel Clear is built for prosthetics and on-skin sculpting. You can build raised scars, burn textures, deep wound edges or creature skin directly on the face or body. Because the material is clear, it blends seamlessly over any skin tone once painted.
The transparency also makes it ideal for edge-blending prosthetics into the surrounding skin. Thin out the edges with a spatula and the transition becomes near invisible after colouring.
When should you choose the clear version over Flesh Tone?
Choose Sculpt Gel Clear when you need to match a specific skin tone precisely or when you are working on multiple people with different complexions in one session. You colour it yourself with silicone pigments or over-paint it after curing, which gives you exact control.
If you want to get to a realistic result faster without mixing pigments, Sculpt Gel Flesh Tone 150g is the quicker option. For longer productions, Sculpt Gel Clear 300g saves you from running out mid-shoot.
How to use Sculpt Gel Clear
Mix equal parts of component A and B. Add component C if you need a softer, more flexible result, especially on moving areas like the neck or jaw. Apply the mixed gel with a spatula, sculpt your effect, then stipple the surface with a sponge for realistic skin texture. Leave to cure fully before colouring with body paint or alcohol activated make-up.
Pro tip: Mix only small amounts at a time, the gel sets quickly once A and B are combined. Use a separate spatula for each component to avoid cross-contamination in the pots, and label your lids A, B and C before you start.
Setting and removing
Once cured, dust the surface with setting powder before applying colour, this gives the paint something to grip. To remove, gently peel the silicone away from the skin. Residue can be cleaned with 99.9% alcohol.
