Mehron Stainless Steel Spatula (20 cm)

The Mehron Stainless Steel Spatula is a professional double-ended stainless steel spatula for modelling and working with scar wax, SynWax, Extra Flesh, Liquid Latex and SFX gels. At 20 cm long with two different working ends (square for smoothing, pointed for detail work), you have one tool for both rough modelling and fine incisions. An essential piece of kit for pro SFX make-up artists, theatre professionals and film crews.

What is the Mehron Stainless Steel Spatula?

The stainless steel construction is hygienic, durable and easy to clean with alcohol or a make-up remover. Because of the steel design, you can also use the spatula to scoop products hygienically from pots, without putting your fingers into the product.

How do you use the Spatula?

For modelling wax and putty: use the square end to scoop Mehron Scar Wax or SynWax from the pot and model it onto the skin. Smooth edges and blend the wax into the skin.

For incisions and detail work: use the pointed end to create grooves, cuts or incisions in modelled wax for realistic wound effects. The point also gives you control over fine detail work on latex prosthetics. For latex and gel products: apply Liquid Latex with the flat square end for even coverage. For 3D Gel and Sculpt Gel, use the spatula to model and smooth the gel. For hygienic scooping from pots: use the spatula to scoop make-up from pots instead of using your fingers. This keeps the product bacteria-free for longer and is hygienic when working on multiple models. Pro tip: lightly moisten the spatula with a conditioning cream or vaseline to stop wax sticking to the steel during modelling. Works particularly well with cold wax that hasn't yet fully warmed to hand temperature.

Care and cleaning

Clean the spatula immediately after use with alcohol or a make-up remover to remove wax, latex and pigment residue. Rinse with water and dry thoroughly with a clean cloth. Store in a dry place for long-lasting use. The stainless steel withstands repeated cleaning without any loss of quality.
