How to use Diamond FX face paint
Activate the face paint with a small amount of clean water. Spritz a fine mist onto the paint with a spray bottle, or use a well-squeezed sponge or damp brush. Clean water keeps colours vivid and pure - work alongside a water tub and refresh the water between colours.
Tips for a professional result
- Use the right brushes. The FBFX Face Paint Brushes are made specifically for water-activated face paint with soft synthetic hairs that leave no fluff behind. For detail work and fine lines, reach for the FBFX Round Detail Brushes.
- Use the right sponge. For covering large areas, use a Yellow Face Paint Sponge. Latex foam sponges are not suitable for water-activated face paint.
- Keep your water clean. A water tub with fresh water next to your workspace prevents colours from muddying or going dull.
- Barrier layer for sensitive skin or intense colours. Apply a thin layer of Marley Skin beforehand. This barrier coat makes removal easier and prevents staining when working with intense shades like dark green, turquoise, or dark blue.
How to remove Diamond FX face paint
Remove with a mild, non-moisturising soap and cool to lukewarm water. Hot water opens the pores, allowing pigment to sink deeper into the skin - avoid it. Gently work the soap in and rinse thoroughly. Repeat until all the face paint is gone.

Frequently asked questions
Why are there sometimes small cracks in the face paint?
Large temperature changes during storage or transport can cause the wax to expand and contract, leading to surface cracks. They usually disappear when you start painting. There is no effect on quality or shelf life.
Is Diamond FX safe for children?
Yes, Diamond FX Essential is hypoallergenic, fragrance-, paraben-, and lanolin-free, gluten-free, and contains no animal ingredients. The Essential range complies with EU and FDA cosmetics regulations. For sensitive skin, always do a patch test 24 hours beforehand.
How many faces can you paint with 30 grams?
A 30 gram pot covers approximately 10 to 15 full faces, depending on layer thickness and technique.
What is the difference between Essential, Metallic, and Neon?
Essential is a matte base face paint. Metallic has a glossy shimmer finish. Neon colours glow under UV/blacklight - Neon Blue, Violet, and White are semi-transparent under regular light and only come to life under blacklight; the other Neon shades are opaque and vivid.
Can you apply Diamond FX over other colours?
Yes, that is one of its strengths. The wax base and high pigmentation mean the top colour covers fully without the underlying colour showing through. Product photos are taken under professional daylight lamps without colour editing. Colours may vary slightly depending on your screen settings.
Compliant with EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009. Product photos are taken under professional lighting. Colours may differ slightly depending on your screen settings.
