When do you choose Rusty over a matte red?
The glycerin formula gives Rusty its smooth, creamy texture. It blends easily on both skin and body and covers well in a single layer. The shimmer pigment is built into the formula, so there is no separate step needed.
Choose this colour if you want a warm, earthy red with a metallic accent - for autumn festivals, pumpkin looks, fox characters or dramatic Halloween designs where flat matte red feels too plain.
How to use it
Superstar face paint is a water-activated face paint. Activate with a damp brush or sponge:
With a brush
- Dampen your brush and swirl it over the paint.
- Apply in thin layers for the best coverage.

With a sponge
- Dampen the face paint sponge using a spray bottle so the sponge does not get too wet.
- Swipe the sponge over the paint and apply to the skin.
- Use a round face paint sponge or a Butterfly Sponge for an even base.
Pro tip: For a fox or autumn fairy look, apply Rusty as your base, then blend a lighter peach or gold tone on the cheeks and brow ridge. Add fine white detail lines with a thin brush for a polished finish.
Setting and removing
Superstar face paint sets as it dries. To remove, use water and mild soap. You can also use a skin cleansing soap for a gentle result. For sensitive skin, the Wonder Towel with a little water works well. Do not scrub and avoid baby wipes, as these can irritate the skin.
