Ben Nye Prosthetic Adhesive is a water-based acrylic adhesive for attaching latex prosthetics, clown noses, rhinestones and small skin appliques. The formula is built for live performances and long shoot days where perspiration causes standard adhesives to lift. This 29ml bottle is the standard pro size for theatre, film and events.
What is Ben Nye Prosthetic Adhesive?
This is an acrylic skin adhesive on a water base. Unlike Spirit Gum, which uses an alcohol base, this formula is less flammable and gentler on skin that reacts to alcohol. The adhesive bonds to both skin and latex, with a 1 to 2 minute tack time so you can still position the prosthetic precisely before pressing it into place.

How to use the adhesive
Step 1: Preparation. Make sure the skin is clean and free of oils. Grease or leftover make-up will significantly reduce adhesion. Shake the bottle well before use.
Step 2: Application. Pour a small amount into a mixing palette. Apply a thin layer with a cotton swab or applicator to both the skin and the underside of the prosthetic.
Step 3: Tack time. Allow the adhesive to dry for 1 to 2 minutes until it feels tacky. Only then press the prosthetic into position, making sure the edges sit flush.
Step 4: Finishing. Press the edges firmly and allow the bond to set. For a long shooting day, dust the edges lightly with setting powder once dry to prevent any shine.
Pro tip from Linda: Apply adhesive to both the skin and the prosthetic for the strongest bond. That double layer makes a noticeably stronger hold, which is exactly what you need during live performances with a lot of movement.
Removal
Remove with Ben Nye Bond Off! (general purpose, strong) or Ben Nye Remove-It All (multi-purpose, fragrance-free for sensitive skin).
Apply remover to the edges of the prosthetic, allow it to soak in, then work carefully inwards until the piece lifts away. Wipe off any remaining adhesive with a cotton pad and clean the skin with water and a mild soap.
