AMI Brush Soap 100 grams

Of course, you want to keep good brushes in great condition for as long as possible. With AMI Brush Soap, you can thoroughly clean face painting brushes and special effects make-up brushes and remove remaining face paint, make-up and other product residues from the bristles. Handy for use at home, but especially useful if you work with your brushes frequently.

What is AMI Brush Soap?

AMI Brush Soap, also known as Künstlerseife or Artists Soap, is a solid soap for cleaning brushes. The soap is made by Art Material International (AMI) and comes in a 100 gram bar.

By regularly cleaning your brushes with brush soap, you prevent old face paint and make-up residues from building up between the bristles. Simply rinsing with water is not always enough, as product can remain deeper between the bristles. With brush soap, you clean them much more thoroughly.

Why choose this brush soap?

The great thing about a solid brush soap is that you can easily use exactly as much as you need. Wet your brush, move it over the bar of soap and you can start cleaning straight away.

The soap is suitable for removing different types of product residue. The manufacturer mentions oil and acrylic residues, among others, but for face painters and make-up artists it works just as well after a day of face paint or special effects make-up.

How do you use AMI Brush Soap?

First wet the bristles of your brush with lukewarm water. Then gently move the damp bristles over the bar of brush soap until a little foam forms.

Gently massage the foam through the bristles. You can do this with your fingers, but try not to pull hard on the bristles. Then rinse the brush thoroughly with clean, lukewarm water.

Can you still see face paint, make-up or other residues coming out of the brush? Repeat the cleaning process. Continue until the water remains clear.

After cleaning, gently reshape the bristles and preferably allow the brush to dry lying flat. Avoid placing a wet brush upright with the bristles facing upwards. Water can then run towards the metal ferrule, while you want the brush to be able to dry properly.

Setting and removal

Of course, there is nothing to set when using brush soap. However, it is important to rinse all the soap from the bristles after cleaning. Soap residue can affect how your brush picks up and applies face paint or make-up the next time you use it.

What do you use it for?

  • Thoroughly cleaning face painting brushes
  • Cleaning make-up and special effects make-up brushes
  • Removing built-up product residue from the bristles
  • Maintaining brushes you use intensively
  • Giving your brush set a regular deep clean
